To use Google Docs you need a (free) Google account.

To customize the template, you can simply type over any existing text. You can also copy a recipe from another document (or online), then select the text in the template and paste your text over it.
To keep the original formatting when pasting text, please use one of these methods:
When pasting your text, please use Edit (or right-click on your mouse) and choose Paste without Formatting.
You can use Styles to correct any formatting issues. There are pre-defined styles for headings and text in the document.
Google Docs automatically saves your changes. If you make a mistake, just undo it by clicking Control+Z or Command+Z on your keyboard.
Click on the photo you want to replace to select it.
Go to Format - Image - Replace Image (or right-click on the image and select Replace Image).
To crop an image:
Click on the photo you want to crop to select it.
Go to Format - Image - Crop Image (or right-click on the image and select Crop Image).
To duplicate a page:
Click at the end of a page and add a page break Insert - Break - Page Break.
New page will be added to your document.
Choose a template you’d like to copy/duplicate, then click in the top left corner of that page and drag your cursor to the end of the page to select it. Once it’s highlighted, Copy it (Command/Control+C).
Click in the new page and paste it (Command/Control + V).
To delete a page:
Click in the top left corner of the page you want to delete and drag your cursor to the end of the page to select it. Once it’s highlighted, click the Delete (or Backspace) button on your keyboard. You can also click anywhere inside the page then right-click and select Delete Table.
When printing your document, please make sure to select Actual Size under Page Sizing. Select document size as 8.5x11 or A4 depending which template you are using. You can choose to print your pages double-sided or single-sided.
Tip: Once printed, use plastic binder sleeves to protect your pages from water damage.
